Is there a family leave policy for graduate students? If so, describe.

I do not think so. I am quite confidant, however, that reasonable accomodations could be made for both female and male graduate students.

Is there family health insurance for graduate students? If so, is it included in the stipend?

Yes there is family health insurance, but it is not included in the stipend. Our stipend is currently $19,400 per year along with tuition remission. The annual cost of health insurance is $620 for the graduate student with additional charges of $167 for a spouse and $100 per child per month.

Please describe why someone applying to graduate school who is interested in a female-friendly department should choose your department.

We expect students to choose Auburn's Physics Graduate Program because they are seeking a high quality education that leads to good jobs in an atmosphere that gives personal attention to each student. It is both female- and male-friendly.

Has the institution had Climate for Women in Physics Site Visit?
