Is there a family leave policy for graduate students? If so, describe.

No

Yes. It is partially subsidized.

Please describe why someone applying to graduate school who is interested in a female-friendly department should choose your department.

The Department is well known to have a closely-knit learning environment that fosters strong mentoring and individual attention in both the classroom and in research. A female Ph.D. physicist is the laboratory coordinator who supervises graduate teaching assistants, and two other women are members of the graduate faculty with whom students will interact in courses, graduate colloquium, and other Department functions. The small size of the Department makes it possible to have many social events with the undergraduate students as well. In 2006-07, over 30% of undergraduate physics majors were female students, and over 50% of the undergraduates at Baylor are women.

Has the institution had Climate for Women in Physics Site Visit?
