PhysTEC
The Physics Teacher Education Coalition (PhysTEC) is a program, funded by NSF and FIPSE, to improve the science preparation of future K-12 teachers. It aims to help physics and education faculty work together to provide and education for future teachers that emphasizes a student-centered, hands-on, inquiry-based approach to learning science.

PTEC
The Physics Teacher Education Coalition (PTEC) is an association of physics departments dedicated to the improvement of K-12 physics and physical science teacher preparation. PTEC developed out of the PhysTEC project.

New Faculty Workshops
This annual NSF-funded conference, produced by the American Astronomical Society (AAS), American Institute of Physics Teachers (AAPT), and APS, helps new faculty understand how students learn physics and astronomy and suggests how this information can impact a new professor's teaching methods.

Joint Statement on the Education of Future Teachers
In 1999, the AIP member societies, including the APS, AIP, and AAPT, endorsed a statement about science teacher preparation. Then, in 2003, physics departments from US colleges and universities were invited to endorse this statement.

Century of Physics Timeline
A dramatic online timeline that depicts the past hundred years of physics. Also, a few sets of the poster version of the timeline, designed for the APS Centennial in 1999, are still available for purchase for $50 (US and Canada) including shipping. Download the Century of Physics Timeline Posters Order Form (PDF). International orders, please email timeline@aps.org for details before ordering.

National Task Force on Undergraduate Physics
The APS, the AAPT, and the AIP have established this Task Force to gather information for the physics community on the reform of undergraduate physics programs across the nation. The National Task force on Undergraduate Physics (NTFUP) undertook a project entitled "Strategic Programs for Innovations in Undergraduate Physics", or SPIN-UP.  This project published a report of  case studies of physics departments that are particularly successful in producing physics graduates.

Minority Scholarship
Minority Undergraduate Scholarships are available for minority high school seniors and college freshmen and sophomores who plan to obtain a degree in physics.
