(including Focus Topics)

Submit an abstract to the APS April Meeting 2008 now at abstracts.aps.org.

The deadline to submit abstracts is January 11, 2008 at 5:00 p.m., Eastern Time.

INVITED SPEAKERS: Please refer to your letter of invitation for complete instructions on how to submit your INVITED abstract.

Before submitting your abstract, select a sorting category. View the list of sorting categories, including description of Special Focus Topics.

Note: APS members are entitled to present one oral contributed abstracts. Subsequent submissions will no longer be assigned as Supplementary abstracts to be presented at the end of a regular session. If you submit a second abstract it will be assigned as a poster. If you do not wish to present your second abstract as a poster, please do not submit more than one abstract. Abstracts submitted beyond a second abstract will not be included in the program.

Instructions for submitting abstracts:

APS members can submit abstracts online at abstracts.aps.org.

Once you are at the appropriate abstract submission page, simply follow the instructions. The online submission process will guide you step by step. You will have a choice of submitting your abstract in LaTeX format or by using the APS Word (RTF) template.

Contributed abstracts are limited to 1300 characters, including title, authors, affiliations, title-notes, and footnotes. The limit for invited abstracts is 2000 characters.

Knowing the number of authors you have and having a rough draft of the abstract body will speed up submission. We also recommend that, prior to submitting abstracts, new users select the Test Meeting and complete all steps in order to familiarize themselves with the process.

If you encounter any problems at any point in the abstract submission process, please contact the APS Abstract Help Line by sending e-mail to abs-help@aps.org or 301-209-3290 during regular business hours, Eastern Time.

Note: Individuals wishing to join APS to submit an abstract should do so online. Membership numbers are emailed in the confirmation message within 24 hours of becoming a member. If you need to submit an abstract prior to receiving your member number, please enter "membership pending" in the abstract special instructions field. Membership will be verified after submission.
