Head of Public Outreach

American Physical Society (APS) seeks a PhD Physicist with solid public outreach experience to lead our public outreach department. Qualified candidates will have a creative, self-starting and interactive personality, excellent communication and organizational skills; the ability to work with deadlines; and, strong proficiency in utilizing the Internet in the area of web page maintenance.

Responsibilities include maintaining the APS public outreach web site, PhysicsCentral; overseeing APS middle school outreach activity, PhysicsQuest; collaborating on other APS outreach initiatives; and, supervising a public outreach specialist.

This position is based at APS headquarters in College Park, MD (within walking distance of the College Park Metro station).
